From HCMC or from Nha Trang, the roads to Dalat are always to pass the tortuous Prenn mountain pass before reaching the city’s gateway. Being in the sceneries of plains, tourists will have indescribable feeling when reaching the mountain pass. That is the agitation feeling of high mountains in this side and valleys in the other side, rolling hills in the distance, stretched rows of pine hubbub in the winds which are liked warmly greeting the tourist to come to a city of thousand flowers.

The climate of Dalat is temperateness, the average temperature in a year is 18^oC, the lowest is about 5^oC, the highest fells into the sunny period – 31^oC. In Dalat, there are 4 seasons in a day: bright spring in the morning, a hot summer at noon, an indistinct autumn in the afternoon and a piercingly cold at night. At the height of 1500m from the sea level and with the pure climate, Dalat conceal itself in the pine forest with many flowers, trees, springs, lakes and falls which create such a beautiful and romantic natural landscapes. They are such as: Xuan Huong lake, Cu Hill, Love valley, Prenn fall…which create the beauty of harmonization, particular interests to the city. 

Beside, Dalat is also famous with the type of original architecture which is rarely seen inside the country and countries in Asian. Dalat has over 3000 villas with different beauties, especially, the Pedagogy College - the national architectural vestige. This is the original architecture which is seldom seen in Vietnam, the soft curve of the building is symbolic of an opened book and a strong sign mark is the bell tower tabulated on stone which is symbolic of pen point reaches to the sky, to the base of dark green pine forest and aims to the surface of Xuan Huong Lake.   

Talking to the citizens of Dalat, besides the nice skin, they have the specific characteristics in manners. In Dalat, the gestures of people here are deliberate and moderate. They are deliberate from the way of standing to the way of working, talking. It is hardly to see the hurry, rudeness or noisiness in the activities of Dalat people. A foreigner said that Dalat market is the unique place where there is not noisiness of a market. The voice of Dalat people is the crystallization of many voices from the North to the Middle that create a soft, pure voice which is overall for the Dalat style. Inside the Dalat people that are something private, profound and gentle.
